OWL Energy Monitor (CM119)

Summary
The OWL-CM119 is a follow on to the highly successful OWL CM113 energy monitor. It takes the basic features of the OWL CM113 and brings them in-line with more recent energy monitors, so you still get real-time monitoring of your electricity usage which can be displayed in terms of consumption or monetary cost as well as information on your greenhouse gas emissions to allow you to see the carbon footprint your household energy consumption creates - it has been proven that education and awareness are the key to reducing energy usage and by having a constant visual reminder of your energy consumption, the incentive is there to make changes to your usage habits. Additionally, whilst the OWL- CM119 may not have the features of the top end models, it is an improvement over the OWL CM113 in that it incorporates extra functions to help you to reduce your energy consumption further still.

Description
The OWL-CM119 takes over where the CM113 energy monitor left off. It features a temperature and humidity display and an alarm function that can be set to trigger when the power consumption reaches a pre-determined level. However, the new features of this model include a cumulative memory, so you can look back at your usage history for the previous day, week, month, quarter or year to see the improvements you have made by being aware of your consumption and switching off those unused appliances. It also features greater accuracy, Economy 7 compatibility, three selectable channels for the transmitter to avoid interference with your neighbours and to allow you to use multiple OWL monitor systems within close proximity and an estimated four year battery life on the transmitter. Saving energy - and therefore money - has never been so easy...

How it works
As with most electricity monitors, a sensor is clipped around the live feed from your electricity supply (no electrician required) and plugged into a transmitter. This signal is then received on the OWL CM119. The signal can be picked up about 100m away in free space or about 30m through walls. The main OWL display unit is compact enough to be portable but features a clear, easy to read display. It is battery powered and will last up to twelve months. There is a low battery warning symbol that will display when the batteries need changing.
