Eco-Eye Energy Monitors
The Eco-Eye Elite is a British made and designed wireless real time electricity monitor that will keep an eye on the total amount of electricity being consumed by your home and display the information in a user friendly way, showing either the kilowatts used or the monetary cost this equates to . The Eco-Eye Elite also calculates your greenhouse gas emissions allowing you to improve your carbon footprint and become a more responsible electricity user and allows you to view both current and historical usage.

Like the Eco-Eye Elite, the Eco-Eye Mini is a British made and designed wireless real time electricity monitor which displays your electricity usage and acts as a visual reminder to switch your unused appliances off. The Eco-Eye Mini calculates your greenhouse gas emissions allowing you to improve your carbon footprint and allows you to view both current and historical usage. It has the same functionality as the Eco-Eye Elite, just a smaller display.

The Eco-Eye Solo is an additional electricity monitor designed to work with the Eco-Eye Elite or Eco-Eye Mini. No transmitter or sensor is included in the box so you will need to own either an Elite or a Mini before it can be used but it allows you the opportunity to have a monitor in two or more places, thereby making you doubly aware of your electricity usage. The more reminders you have of the energy you are using, the more likely you are to try to reduce it! By purchasing the Eco-Eye Solo, you also have the option of setting different displays on different units - one could display kilowatts, one monetary cost, another greenhouse gas emissions.

What is an Eco-Eye Energy Monitor?
Do you want to save upto 15% on your electricity bill? Eco-Eye will help you do this. It is a wireless electricity usage monitor that is designed to save you money. By seeing how much you are spending at any point in time, you learn how to cut down and save money.
There are other type of energy monitor around, but the Eco-Eye represents the best value for money in terms of the functions it offers.
It gives updates every four seconds showing how much power you are using so you can instantly see, for example, if you have left a light on.
It consists of two parts, a sender unit which attaches to the live electricity cable next to your electricity meter and a display unit which you can place in your home. No electrical knowledge is required to install it, the sender just clamps around one cable which allows it to monitor the power that is being used by your house. If you are in any doubt, please consult a qualified electrician.
The display units can be placed anywhere within wireless range of the sender. Usually this can be anywhere in your house. Multiple displays can receive the same signal so you can combine an Elite downstairs with, for example, a Solo upstairs.
Coming soon is the USB version. This will allow you to download all the usage data to your PC so you can graph out exactly when the peaks and troughs of your energy consumption are. The USB version needs to be combined with an Elite or Mini as it uses their sender units.
Once you've identified where your power is being used, why not look at the CM15Pro controller and a couple of Plug-In modules to turn those items off when they are not needed. You'll find them here.

Eco-Eye FAQ
Are they easy to fit? Yes, full instructions are enclosed. What's the difference between an Elite and a Mini? Just the size of the display, they have the same functions but the Elite is easier to read from a distance i.e. from the other side of the room as it has a very large display. So which would so recommend? If you are going to wall mount it, go for the Elite, if you want to carry it around or have it sat next to you, go for the Mini. The Elite has a much larger display and will certainly create a talking point for any visitors that see it. Do I need a power supply? No, but it is more eco-friendly if you have one. When is the USB interface coming out? Sometime in Feb 2009. If my next door neighbour has one, will mine still work? Yes, there is a choice of channels so they will not interfere. Is the firmware upgradable? Yes, but only by the manufacturers (www.eco-eye.com). Visit their website for details. How do I tell which version of firmware I have? When you remove and replace the batteries, the second screen to be displayed is the firmware version.
